Sample Shmup Mechanics
A downloadable Sample mechanics
I created this Sample Mechanic series because I wanted to create my own games, but I didn't know where to start at first. All I knew was that I always wanted to create a simple Shoot 'em Up game, or even a Bullet Hell / Danmaku one.
Although this project might not be the most complicated one to make, this sample mechanic gave me the opportunity to start developing games on Godot and learning how does the engine work internally.
Inside this sample project, two ways of controlling the ship can be provided: You can open the project and control the ship with your mouse (the current control mode) or with your keyboard (which you're gonna have to make some modifications on the code, but nothing too complicated).
There are also enemy ships that spawn and shoot against the player, working health and points system, providing a simple template for any other Shmups you want to develop.
Unfortunately, there's no main menu implemented, but I'll provide another implementation for this somewhere in the future. If you like this sample mechanic, please feel free to download and get in touch, so I can make some more and create a bigger sample mechanic library.
